The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team went 1-1 last week while playing in the Breakdown’s Granite City Classic tournament.

Thursday evening, the boys took to the court at SCSU’s Halenbeck Hall and were able to win a nail biter, 64-62, over Spring Lake Park.

On Friday, Becker traveled to the campus of St. John’s University and took on the Albany Huskies.  Albany put together a hot shooting night to down the Bulldogs, 82-57.

The 1-1 split leaves Becker with a 3-3 record on the season.

Tuesday night, the Bulldogs were slated to host the Anoka Tornadoes, but that game was postponed due to inclement weather.

Friday night, the Bulldogs were set to host the Big Lake Hornets in the Mississippi 8 Conference opener for both teams. The Hornets came into that game with an overall record of 6-1.

Friday’s Highway 10 border battle was scheduled as a Varsity doubleheader, with the Hornet and Bulldog girls playing first, followed by the boys teams.
