Convention Of States Coming To Clear Lake

Heads up Central Minnesota, the Convention of States is coming to your community!

Rep. Shane Mekeland is spearheading a Town Hall meeting at South Santiago Lutheran Church on Sat., April 24 at 10 a.m. for people to learn more about the organization and the people driving the cause.

The Convention of States is a grassroots movement at the state and national level for American citizens interested in protecting liberty and limiting the jurisdiction of the federal government. Thousands if not millions of people are “waking up” to the corruption of government officials and have been seeking for a way to bring the power back to “We the People.”

The Convention of States invokes Article V of the Constitution of the United States, calling for a convention of states to impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the jurisdiction of the federal government and impose term limits of federal officials. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments proposed. One month ago, On March 5, 2021, Utah voted to become the 14th state to pass the C.O.S. Article V application.

The Town Hall meeting at South Santiago Church will feature honorable guests such as Mekeland, Cal Bahr, Eric Lucero, Sen. Andrew Mathews, Sen. Roger C. Chamberlain,  Rep. Jerry Hertaus, Rep. Dale Lueck and a few other Minnesota legislators. The church asks that all who attend bring a free will offering to the church, such as a non-perishable food item or two to donate.

The meeting is meant to bring people together to learn more about the C.O.S. and answer some questions some may have of the organization. For more info on C.O.S., visit their website at www.conventionofstates.com. The church is located at 14675 37th Street, Clear Lake, MN 55319.
