The Becker Tennis team captured a share of the Mississippi 8 Conference title Tuesday with a gutsy 4-3 win over the Monticello Magic.
With the win, Becker not only claimed a share of the conference title, but also earned the #1 seed for the Section tournament.

The team went 1-1 Monday, blanking Duluth Marshall 7-0 before falling to Alexandria 3-4.
In the win over Marshall, Bengtson, Nuest, Peterson and Adler Herdina picked up singles wins, while Lane/Brown, Ager/Weiss and Jon Drury/Brock Herdina won their doubles matches.
Against Alexandria, Peterson (#3) and Adler Herdina (#4) were the singles winners, while Lane/Brown picked up the doubles win at #1, winning 6-1, 6-3.
After a string of close matches earlier last week, the Becker tennis team put it all together last Thursday against their Highway 10 rivals from Big Lake and cruised to the 7-0 victory.
Zach Bengtson won 6-1, 6-0 over fellow senior Erick Carlson, while the rest of the singles and doubles teams from Becker won in straight 6-0 sets in the dominant victory. Singles winners included Troy Nuest, Landon Peterson and Adler Herdina, while the doubles victors included Garret Lane/Carter Ager, Nathan Weiss/Jon Drury and John Boecker/Brock Herdina.
