Bulldog golfers hitting the links

The meets continue for the Becker girls and boys golf meets, with Coach Anna Babler and the girls continuing to sit atop the M8 standings.

Last Wednesday, the girls were at St. Francis and took first with a round of 358, while the Big Lake Hornets were in second with 424 strokes.

The Bulldogs claimed the top three spots, with Layla Mathews firing an 82, followed by Alexa Voller (87) and Avery Johnson (93).  Nora Pilarski was fifth with 96 strokes, while Emelia Strong finished in seventh with a round of 98.

Monday, the girls went to Chisago Lakes and were able to finish in the top spot again in a rain-shortened meet that consisted of nine holes.  Becker was +37 through the nine holes, while Monticello was seven strokes behind when the meet was called.

Mathews was again the top golfer, firing a +6, while Voller was one stroke off the lead in third place.

Boys

Last Thursday and Friday the boys team took part in the Cardinal/Wildcat Invite, with the first day’s action being in New London-Spicer and day two in Willmar.

The Bulldogs struggled a bit, with the team shooting a 382 and no one breaking 90.

Friday at Eagle Creek course, it was much colder and even windier, but the boys battled to a score of 355 strokes, coming in at 11th out of 14 teams.

Tuesday, Big Lake hosted the Mississippi8 Conference meet at Pebble Creek.
