Bulldog girls take 2nd

Tuesday, the Becker girls track team went to the Monticello Invite, where Becker came in second with the following team scores: Alexandria 246.5, Becker 115, Osseo 114.5, Monticello 92, Zimmerman 48.5, St Cloud Tech 37, Big Lake 25.5 and St Cloud Apollo 21.

Lauren Woefel won the pole vault, clearing 10’, while Violet Johnson tied for fifth in the event.

In other field events, Ella Tschida was eighth in shot and seventh in discus, while Kylee Morton finished sixth in the long jump.  Josie Reckelberg finished fourth in the triple jump, while Woelfel was seventh.

The 4x400 team of Abby Atwood, Alea Briggs, Katelyn Brower and Lexi Rose ran a season best time (4:17.54) to win that race, while the 4x100 (Reckelberg, Morton, Leon Morris and Salayna Allen) finished second.     

Third place was claimed by the 4x200 team (Andie Changamire, Morton, Atwood, Kailey Thompson), while  Thompson also took second in the 300 hurdles (PR) and Raelee Lyon was sixth.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Woelfel was third, Thompson fourth and Lyon seventh.

In the 100 dash, Allen had a PR 12.80 for fourth place and a spot on the Becker Honor Roll.

Other third place finishes included Andie Changamire in the 400, and Rose in the 1600.

Reimer Classic

Thursday, the team was in Pillager for the John Reimer Classic Invitational, a meet named after Reimer-Kealy’s father.

Becker was dominant, winning the 13 team field with 160 points to second place Osakis’ 65.5.

First place finishes: Allen - 100 (13.42) and, Thompson - 300 hurdles (PR 48.95), and Briggs - 800 (2:28.81).

Relay winners: 4x100 (Reckelberg, Morton, Lyon and Allen) 52.34; 4x200 (Reckelberg, Morton, Andie Changamire and Thompson) - 1:50.32; and 4x400 relay (Andie Changamire, Briggs, Kaylyn Rickard, and Rose) 4:15.31.

Second place: Reckelberg in the 200 and triple jump, Changamire in the 400, Rose in the 1600, Olivia Babler in the 3200.

Third Place: Briggs in the 1600, Thompson in the 100 hurdles, Lyon in the 300 hurdles, and Tschida in the shot put.

Fourth place: Rose in the 800, Lyon in the 100 hurdles, Bella Kuschel in the high jump and Sophia Otto in the pole vault.
